As a community and an emergency management accreditation program (EMAP-trained) assessor, she helps organizations understand how strong their emergency management programs really are and where they can improve. With experience assessing programs at multiple levels, she knows how emergency management works across different types of organizations and jurisdictions. EMAP uses a nationally recognized framework of 64 standards that cover everything from planning and training to coordination, recovery, and continuous improvement. She helps leaders see how their programs align with these standards in clear, practical terms, turning requirements into useful insights rather than checklists.
EMAP assessments take place on a regular cycle and are conducted by an in-person team of trained peer assessors. She has gained experience working as part of those on-site teams, engaging directly with staff, leadership, and partners to understand how the program functions day to day. She brings a professional, collaborative approach that puts people at ease while asking the right questions and identifying meaningful strengths and gaps. She provides fair, consistent and constructive feedback that supports accreditation success and long-term program improvement.
